Update: Iditarod over

At 7:06 a.m. Kenosha time today Michigan musher Timothy Hunt crossed the finish line in Nome to end this year's Iditarod sled dog race. Hunt was greeted by Nome residents and presented with the Red Lantern award signifying that all mushers are safely off the trail and honoring Hunt's perseverance. Tonight it's Red Lantern banquet time in Nome.

At the right it's Rachael Scdoris at the finish line whom I mentioned yesterday. Scdoris is the legally blind musher from Bend, Oregon who denounces the notion of "disability" as tantamont to "unable" and, as she says and has demonstrated, "I am by no means unable."
