Obviously, the first thing that needs to happen will be for the GOP to close ranks around John McCain. That's a no-brainer.
But McCain himself could do a lot to help out his own cause by showing that he's ready to govern from "day one."
The first thing he could do would be to recruit and publish who his key cabinet members and advisers would be. Ronald Reagan was well-known to surround himself with competent people and delegate. (The Bush family seems more at ease with frat brothers.)
What better straight talk than to show America who would be running the show?
