Have murders in Racine become that common?

A 17-year-old Racine boy was gunned down on the front porch of his home early this morning, another apparent sign of rising gang violence in Racine.

The Racine Journal-Times reported this story on its web site -- below another story about the theft of four laptop computers from a Racine business.

Makes you wonder whether violence in Racine is becoming so common that the community is becomoning desensitized. How sad.

It is, sad to say. Racine is becoming more and more like Milwaukee. We just don't have our own Junior McGee ... yet.
