Congratulations to the Kenosha Police Department -- and a question for city officials

The Kenosha Police Department responded quickly and efficiently Thursday to a robbery and shooting at Carl and Doug's, a tavern located at 2405 63rd Street in uptown Kenosha.

Within a couple of hours city officers, sheriff's deputies and Pleasant Prairie Police rounded up four suspects.

That's good news -- and also it's a great sign to see interdepartmental cooperation which, as our community grows, will likely become increasingly necessary.

The question that comes up, however, is whether the city council should take a close look at problems in and around that tavern. Let's hope Alderman Steve Casey, whose district includes that area, will take the lead.
