OK, now that you've read what happened last month, guess what this doofus did? Less than one month after he was convicted and resigned his judicial post, he applied to be appointed to succeed himself!
Fortunately there were several other candidates hoping to fill the vacancy. The Whitewater City Council tonight wisely selected Whitewater lawyer Richard C. Kelly to serve as municipal judge until city voters get their say next April.
As for Spear, no word about whether he'll really try to get his old job back at the next city election but, for now, you have to wonder if the lights are on but nobody's home.
